This is due to Flores’ heavily wooded, rugged, and mountainous landscape that has hindered access to the mainland’s interior up until 25 years ago. Unlike Bali – a neighboring tourist hot-spot – the island remains pretty much intact, with very little exposure to the hustle and bustle of a popular tourist destination.

KOMODO ISLAND

Komodo Island is the most-visited attraction of Flores. Rinca island, a smaller island where the Komodo dragons can also be found, is a good alternative to crowded Komodo Island. There are in numerous tour operators both within and outside of Flores offering Komodo or Rinca tour packages. Many local guides and boat captains wait to take visitors there from Labuan Bajo. FLORES AND KOMODO ISLAND TOURS 6D5N ITINERARY:

Day 1 DENPASAR – MAUMERE-MONI (-/-/D)

On arrival in Maumere direct transfer to Moni and overnight Moni Ecolodge Hotel or similar. Dinner at local restaurant.

Day 2 MONI-KELIMUTU-BAJAWA (B/L/D)

Early morning (04:00 am) visit Kelimutu to see its picturesque three-color lakes. Then drive to Bajawa. On the way to Bajawa we will stop in some traditional village to visit, such as: Jopu traditional village. After noon arrive in Bajawa and check in at Silverin Hotel for Overnight. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant.

Day 3. BAJAWA – RUTENG (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we visit Bena Megalitic Village, and then we drive to Ruteng with stops in Aimere for lunch and to see the local arak palm distillations. Arrive at Ruteng, check in at MBC Hotel for overnight. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant.

Day 4. RUTENG – LABUAN BAJO (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we drive to Liang Bua cave where the Hobbit of Homoflorensis were found, then drive to Ruteng Pu’u traditional village. After lunch we drive to Labuan Bajo with stops in Cara Village to see the view of Spider Web Padi Rice Field. Arrive at Labuan bajo, check in at Jayakarta Hotel for overnight. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant.

Day 5. LABUAN BAJO – KOMODO –PINK BEACH- LABUAN BAJO (B/L/D)

Early morning (05:00 am) transfer to the harbor to get on board a local motorized wooden boat to Komodo Island, and trekking in Komodo to see the activities of Komodo dragons in their pure environment. Then proceed to Pink Beach for swimming and snorkeling. Lunch will be served on boat. Afternoon, we sail back to Labuan Bajo. Overnight at Jayakarta Hotel. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant.

DAY 6: LABUAN BAJO – DENPASAR

Transfer to airport for your flight back to Denpasar (end program)
